About Tom Waggoner
Mr. Waggoner is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Syntex Industries, a developer of renewable energy-based advanced fuels, fertilizers, solar housing and community microgrids. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Community Solar Partners, an organization formed to develop and finance community solar gardens and solar panels throughout Arkansas and Missouri.
Mr. Waggoner is the founder and former CEO of Staar Surgical (Nasdaq: STAA), a company with a market cap of $3.65 billion as of December 30, 2020. Since retiring from Staar in 1989, Mr. Waggoner has served on the Board of Directors of a number of early-stage, growth and mature companies. Mr. Waggoner earned a Master of Education from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, where he was also a Senior Fellow studying psycholinguistics.
